Enhancing Community Participation in Educational systems with Bahrain’s Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education in Bahrain initiated a policy of decentralization and community participation in education, to improve the quality of education and graduates. This was implemented through the UNDP’s “Education Enhancement Program” which supported Bahrain’s Ministry of Education to achieve their education goal.

UNDP assembled a large assessment team of international institutional experts to conduct an assessment of the Bahraini education system, identify gaps, and present a comprehensive set of recommendations.

The CID Response:
CID Consulting worked with the Bahraini government to conduct an evaluation of the degree of decentralization and community participation in education programs and practices, which were being implemented in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The extensiveness of the assessment was supported by comparative analyses against world best-practices.

The Result:
Reported results of the assessment initiated by Bahrain’s Ministry of Education has led to a greater understanding and identification of development areas of focus for further decentralization. Through their evaluation, the government began positive engagement with the community triggering continued dialogue and participation.
